Two manuscript versions of this text are available to us. One belongs to Lama Tshultrim of Lubrak, and the other is located in the library of the Drangsong House in Lo Monthang. This is the house that was inhabited by the hereditary Bonpo chaplains of the kings of Mustang, who were replaced by a Buddhist family after the death of the last male member in approximately 1960. The two versions of the text are very similar, the main differences being in the orthography of a number of terms. The version presented here is the Drangsong House recension, while variants in the Lubrak version are given in footnotes.
